Birthday weekends :)

Well, I'm officially no longer a teenager. I'm the big 2-0. Wow. I went home this past weekend to spend my birthday with the fam, and I loved every minute of it. I got home about 3 on Friday afternoon, and pretty much hung around the house for a while. Luke, the rents, and I all watched some t.v. that night, and then we kinda just all went to bed because we were all tired. I got to sleep in on Saturday (my birthday) which was awesome. I ate lunch after a bit, and then opened presents with mom, dad, and Luke. I got a plane ticket to go see Jeff in January (woo hoo!), a George Foreman grill (which I'm testing out tonight for dinner... looks like it's going to be really handy), some foreign money from my dad, a ginormous jaw breaker, and (6) 30 minute massages at a place in Dallas from Jeff (SO awesome. I'm definitely going to make the most of those.).

Cameron and her parents came over for dinner that night where Cam gave me Aladdin on dvd (sweeeet), and her parents got me some really awesome smelling candles :) We had dinner, cake and ice cream, and then just chatted a bit. After everyone left, Luke and I ended up watching Cowboy Bebop and then we got to bed.

Sunday consisted of going to church, packing up a bit, and heading back to C.S. with Nellie. (for those of you who don't know Nellie, she is my cat from Dallas that I'm keeping at the duplex for the time being.) Thus far Nellie has been much more outgoing than she usually is when she's in Dallas, and Liz and Gigi seem to like her too.

Monday was pretty usual with classes and everything. But when I got home, I was greeted by Liz and Gigi with a cherry cheesecake (yum) and some presents and balloons. How sweet! I love my roomies. Liz had even gotten some candles to place in the cake and light so I could blow them out :)

Yesterday I went to class then off to judo last night where everyone realized it was my birthday this past weekend. So after a hard practice, everyone got a turn at throwing me (and I was not allowed to defend myself. Apparently it's a tradition). Overall, this has been an awesome birthday. Thanks to all who have made it so special for me :)

Anyway, that's about all... i think I've caught you all up to date. Now I need to concentrate on getting some studying done.

This is what I call procrastination

I just finished reading 12 articles for anthropology... I'm not in the mood to continue soaking up information about tribes, chiefdoms, American Indians, etc., so I'm procrastinating.

So to catch you up on the happenings of my life, Monday I had a test in history and my organic chemistry lab. The test wasn't too bad. It was the lab that took FOREVER. Oh well. On Tuesday, I had a organic chemistry quiz, which I did well on, and then went to my other two classes. I'm really glad that I have music as my last class because it's more of a relaxing time than anything. So I decided to take that time to destress and just enjoy the music we were listening to.

Today I went to my history class, then came home for an enjoyable afternoon of studying anthropology. Good times. I'm proud for getting through all of those articles though. Anyway, tonight I'm helping out with a judo demo in the commons, and then it's back home to eat dinner and study some more before I collapse on my bed. But get excited peeps- after Thursday's test and Friday's history class, I get to go home for my birthday!! September 25th. YAY! Presents will be accepted when I get home ;) Anyway, off to some more studying. Have a great week, peeps!

Gig 'em Ags!

This weekend has been awesome dispite the periodic study sessions that were required. Friday night, me, Ashley, Liz, Shelli, and Annie (a friend of Liz's) went to Los Cucos for some mexican food, and then Ashley and I went to go see Wimbleton. Good movie- it exceeded my expectations. Saturday was filled with the arrival of Matt and Cameron to the duplex (yay!), going to Amanda's (one of Cameron's friends and my fellow bridesmaid) tailgate, and going to a Fightin' Texas Aggie football victory against Clemson: 27-6. A-A-A-A-A!!! The only thing that was kind of a bummer is the fact that yet again I was sitting alone. The friends I pulled tickets with bailed on me. :(

Anyway, today will consist of studying, studying, and more studying. I have a test tomorrow in history, and another test on Thursday in anthropology. So needless to say, I have to get going on all that. But all in all, I had an awesome time, especially since Matt and Cam came to C.S. for the weekend :) More news to come after my tests.

Football games and thin walls

Beat the hell outta Wyoming! And that's exactly what we did at the aggie football game today. I'm so proud of those Ags :) My seat was on the second to last row on the third deck. So needless to say, I was really high up there. However, it did give me the opportunity to take lots of really cool pictures like these:

After the game, I hung out for a bit, and then went over to Arjun's for some grub. We stayed there for a bit, and right as I was walking out the door, Liz called my cell. She sounded a bit disturbed, so I asked what was wrong. Fernando, Felipe, and Ephrain (who live on the other side of the duplex) wanted to throw a party and Liz felt like she was basically there, but in her own room. So I got to go over and tell them to shut down the booming music. My first real duplex duty which didn't involve yard maintanence, bills, or rent. Oh wow.

Anyway, that's the exciting news of the day. I think I will now retire to my bed and try to get some sleep dispite the booming sound that still rings in my ears...

Yawn *stretch*

Wow it's been a long week. I am now officially done with my second week of school. Yay! Though, that also means that I have a test next week in organic chemistry. I don't think it will be too hard, but it also marks the beginning of the madness and neverending work. Oh well. For now, I'm going to make the most of my free time.

I get to go to the football game tomorrow, and I'm really excited. Hopefully we will win... :) I'm also going to the soccer game tonight- Gig'em ags!! We're playing the Longhorns tonight, so I hope they kick some major butt.

Anyway, enough of that. There's not too much going on at the moment, so I'll update when I have more to post.

I think my blog misses Cameron's...

Thus far, I noted the connection that ever since Cameron moved back to Dallas, I've been a pretty pathetic blogger. I think Cameron was my blogging buddy. Every time she blogged, it made me want to too. *Sigh* We will just have to find a way to move on without her. (save holidays at home and trips to the mini ranch/ her coming to C.S.)

Anyway, I've been having a pretty good last few days. This weekend was relaxing with lots of sleeping and hanging around the duplex. I had it all to myself, so I got the kitchen and laundry room to myself. I went to my second organic lab today, and I never want to spend that much time in the lab again. 3 hours with no food in my stomach was a bit hard to handle. I think I need to bring a snack to munch on in between classes. I know you needed to know that.

So I guess that's about it for now. I'll update more tomorrow when I have more time to do so. To a second week of classes...
