study, study, study...

For the past several days, all I've really done is study. However, it will all be worth it when I get to spend more time with Jeff this weekend. :D I did get to watch Fantasia tonight, and that was really fun. I didn't realize how short my favorite scene from that movie really was: the mushroom dance :) HOW CUTE!!

Other than that, there's really not much else to report. There seems to be a potential storm brewing outside, and there has been some pretty awesome lightning the past couple of hours. Anyway, I must be getting back to the studying so I don't have to do as much tomorrow.

Days till summer school is over: 13

another Monday has passed

I can't believe I am finishing up summer school in 2 weeks!! That's just craziness. I've been studying my butt off, and hopefully it will pay off next Monday when I have my test. I'm working really hard so when Jeff comes this weekend, I won't have to do as much.

Today has been pretty uneventful. I went to class, where it was about 60 degrees in the room. Then I came back home, ate lunch, and got down to work at about 1. I didn't stop studying till about 3:30, and Gigi laughed at my hunched over back from leaning over my desk for so long without a break. I sat around after that, did some more studying, watched Judge Judy, and ate dinner. At about that point, my mind was not up for more studying quite yet. So I decided to just lay down and doze for a bit.

Now I'm up and about and ready for some more reading/studying. Holy cow I best be freakishly prepared for this upcoming test. Anyway, I'd better get to studying before this urge leaves me. Prayers would be greatly appreciated for the looming test.

after a fun weekend...

"Hookay... so, here's the earth... sweet earth you might say."

Anyway, this weekend was pretty awesome if I do say so myself. I drove home on Friday with Cameron, and after a 3 hour drive, we swam a bit in her pool. Quite refreshing I must say. Then we head over to my house and clean up so that we can go to dinner with Jeff at Peggy Sue BBQ. We also get Matt's room ready so he can come home to a clean room and (surprise!!) a Cameron :D Matt didn't know I was bringing Cameron home with me, so he was very happy.

Saturday morning I woke up and drove to Grapevine to my long anticipated judo tournament. I had quite a support group come: Jeff, Chris, Cameron, and Matt (thanks guys! that totally made my weekend). I ended up getting second place in my division, which gave me a silver metal. I felt so special. Arjun and Adela went and competed as well, and both got gold metals! YAY for them! Though, Arjun hurt his rib, so he may be out of practice for the time being.

Saturday night Jeff and his parents took me to go eat Egyptian food. That was one of the most satisfying meals ever. After dinner, Jeff and I went to meet Chris, Carissa, Carson, and Kim (Carissa's friend) to go bowling. Fun stuff, but not my best day of bowling. Oh well.

Sunday, Jeff came to pick me up (is he not awesome, or what?) to go eat lunch at Ghengis Grill (good stuff). Then we went back over to my house where I packed back up, and had a bit of quality time with Jefe. Sad to go back to College Station, but good to be back to finish the semester off. Only 2 weeks left! So close......

So that's about all for the weekend. A bit (a bit?) of drama here and there, but overall, a good weekend.

tests on fridays are no fun

This week thus far, I've done little more than study, eat, sleep, and go to judo practice. However, I feel pretty prepared for my test tomorrow, and I get to go home after that! So exciting :D

Last night I was extremely productive and decided to make an outline of everything my teacher told us to study, and then expanded on those subjects. I also got some quality time in with Cameron and talked to Jeff as well.

Well, I'm not extremely exciting right now, but I have to get ready for class right now. Hopefully I won't lose my sanity....

sigh...

Well, as the weekend draws to a close, I am saddened by the fact that I have yet another test in biology on Friday that I must start preparing for. But for right now, I will update you on the positives of this weekend: Ashley and Natalie came to the duplex and we watched movies, had awesome conversations, and went over to Adela's house for some more movie watching. This weekend was basically a celebration of Ashley's b-day (HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ASH!), and I think she had lots of fun.

I went to judo tonight, and it's finally dawning on me that I have a tournament that I am going to in less than a week. I don't know if I'm ready... but I'll give it all I have. As it turns out, I am planning on going back home this weekend for more than just Saturday, so I'll be able to spend more time with Jeff and Matt. :)

Anyway, I'm tired and it's time to say goodnight. Love you all, and I can't wait till August when I'll have more time to spend with everyone.

the end of the week is near

Ah me. The end of the week is in sight, I have no homework at this time, and I just got back from judo. Good times. However, I think I might have hurt my back tonight, and that kinda stinks. But oh well.

Cameron just left today to go back to Dallas, so the duplex just doesn't feel right without her. The house will miss her, but I'm sure she'll have great stories to tell from this weekend's adventures when she returns :)

Ashley's coming to the duplex tomorrow!! I'm so excited to be able to hang with her and Natalie (a friend). That, and I feel special being able to spend Ashley's birthday weekend with her :D YAY! I'll update on that once the weekend is over.

Well, I know I haven't been blogging a lot recently, and this is a pretty short post, but I feel like i don't have much else to say. Shower is calling, so until Sunday, I will say farewell.

Friends over at the duplex :)

This weekend was so much fun, I have to say. It was good having Brittany and Taylor here to catch up with them. And it was soooo good to have Jeff here... even though it had been a week since I had seen him. But who can blame me for missing my boyfriend?

Anyway, Jeff got in about 8:30 Friday night, and we ended up talking while we waited for Brittany and Taylor to get here. After they arrived, we showed them the duplex, talked for a bit, and then headed to bed. Saturday, we got up moderately early, watched Veggie Tales :D, and then watched "Outbreak" on TNT while listening to Brittany practice her trumpet in the background. We eventually decided that we needed to go see Spiderman 2, so we went to that Saturday afternoon. I must say that I liked the second one much better than the first. After the movie, we went to dinner at Swenson's where we all splurged on massive (or as Cameron said in her blog, ginormous) piles of ice cream. Then we came home and collapsed on the couch and played Mario Kart and Halo (not necessarily in that order...).

Sunday was a sleep in day, so we all started shuffling around about 10:30. We went to The Kettle for brunch, and then it was time to say goodbye to our duplex visitors. Sad, but someday they'll come back.

Last night I went to judo, and Bob actually stated in front of everyone that I was improving, and he was quite impressed. :) That made me feel better about the fact that I wouldn't be totally maimed when I go and compete on the 24th.

Anyway, I am trying not to procrastinate on my studying too much, so I will say farewell for now... and don't hesitate to comment on my blog... I like getting messages from my peeps :)

Yay for Fridays!

It's almost the weekend, and I can't wait to see Jeff, Brittany and Taylor. The fact that they are coming makes my weekend that much sweeter. Not only that, but I just looked up my grades for bio 113 and 123, and I got A's in both, so that just topped this glorious day.

So yesterday, I did 5, yes I did say 5, loads of laundry. Wow. But this was mostly due to me having to wash my sheets AND comforter. So that made me feel a bit better. And I feel as though I was actually productive yesterday after class.

Ok, so I've caught you up on my life, and now I need to go to biology where I can struggle through my professor talking about evolution for 95 minutes.

Where did all the comments go?!?!

No worries, chillins. I merely changed my comments so that everyone can claim their witty statements as their own. Just wanted to warn everyone. That is all :)

Happy Hump Day :)

Ah Wednesdays. Gotta love the feeling that you are half way through the week, and only a short 2 days away from Friday. Let's see... what has happened since this past weekend? Well, I took my final test in biology 113 which wasn't bad at all, went to my first and second days of biology 114, and went to judo last night. I discovered that about 5-6 of my nutrition 203 friends are in my bio 114 class, so we all sat together today and caught up on each other's lives.

This weekend, Jeff, Taylor, and Brittany all come down to visit Cameron, Me, and the duplex :) I'm excited... expecially to see Brittany because I haven't seen her ALL SUMMER!

Anyway, there's not much else to say except that I'm liking this no school after 12PM business. Until next time...

Happy 4th :)

Ah me. It's always nice to come back from a weekend at home and feel refreshed. I had such an awesome time these past few days, I decided to share it with my devoted readers.

Friday afternoon I headed out for my 3 hour trip back home to Dallas. I decided to be brave and try out the new detour around Richland so I wouldn't get stuck in the madness that is I-45. It was a nice change of scenery, and I highly recommend it as a shortcut when 45 gets backed up. So anyway, I survive the ride home, and I am greeted by my loving family :) I hung around for all of 30 minutes (which I kind of feel bad about...), and then headed for Jeff's house. We had a WONDERFUL dinner of grilled chicken, broccoli, salad, bread, and rice. It was awesome for one who didn't really eat all day Friday.

So after dinner Jeff and I went over to Heather's house and celebrated her b-day with catching up with friends and an awesome ice cream cake that her mom made... oh my gosh that was sooooo good.

Saturday felt like an entire weekend in itself. I went back over to Jeff's around 8:30 AM and ate breakfast. Shortly after, we walked down to the end of his block where we watched the annual Highland Park parade where we got pelted with candy by the band float :) That was really fun to see all of our younger band friends. After finishing the parade watching, we had lunch, and then got invited to J.D. Kearney's house for a swimming party. It was so fun to hang out with J.D., his girlfriend Merissa, and Nick. We swam, had dinner, and then went to see Dodgeball (wow that movie... that's another story).

Anyway, I made the 3 hour ride back to College Station, and I'm now listening to the fireworks outside. You can just barely see them over the houses across the street which is pretty cool looking. And now I must finish studying for my biology test. My procrastination has gone on long enough. Until I have more time to blog...

Excitement in the duplex!... or more in the century tree....

Ok, so if you read Cameron's blog, you probably already know that....

Matt and Cameron are engaged!!!

Oh, I'm so excited for them :) I now have an awesome sister-in-law that I can truely call family in the literal sense.

So... details of "the proposal" (in my point of view):
Matt arrived yesterday about 15 minutes after Cameron left for her lab practical. I open the door for him, and I get an awkward hug around a huge bouquet of roses. I say, "wow, those are a lot of flowers". Matt smiles, and says, "well, I am going to do something today". It hits me immediately. He's proposing!! Anyway, so we sit around for a bit waiting for cameron to come home, and when she finally does, Matt lets her put her stuff down, and then says that they're "going out for dinner, but you have to wear this bandana as a blindfold". After hesitation, Cameron puts on the bandana, and they're off.

And me being Matt's accomplice (or more like last minute photographer), I get up and follow Matt and Cameron to "dinner". Ok, you must have figured out by now that it wasn't dinner they were going to, but the Century Tree!! He proposes, and motions for me to come over and take pictures of a reinactment :) *sigh* so romantic. After a few (15) pictures, Matt and Cameron go off to their real dinner at Johnny Carino's.

And here we are today. I'm so happy for them :) I have the pictures, and I will post them, but for now, I have to go to biology. They will have to wait for a couple of hours. You can wait that long, can't you? You'll have to. Until then...
